The Sacrament of Confirmation strengthens and completes the grace received at Baptism. Through the anointing with Sacred Chrism and the laying on of hands by the Bishop, those being confirmed receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit and renew the promises made at their Baptism.

Confirmation calls us into a deeper relationship with Christ, strengthens our bond with the Church, and gives us the grace to live as mature disciples of Jesus. Filled with the Holy Spirit, we are called to share and defend our Catholic faith through both our words and our actions.

The roots of Confirmation can be found in the Acts of the Apostles, particularly at Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit descended upon the Apostles and empowered them to go out into the world and proclaim the Gospel.
