St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church is a community of faith living the Gospel of Jesus Christ uniting people of many cultures in loving service to our sisters and brothers.
"Jesus Christ did not suffer and die as God, for a Divine Nature can neither suffer nor die. He died as Man; but as God, He has given an infinite value to His sufferings and death. He died for all human beings" -Catholic Book of Prayers
The Divine Mercy Novena starts on Good Friday (April 18) leading to Divine Mercy Sunday (April 27), which is a day of grace for all people, particularly for sinners.
Jesus attached great promises to Divine Mercy Sunday. The greatest is connected with the reception of Holy Communion on that day after a valid Confession: it is the promise of complete forgiveness of sins and punishment. He said, "Let no soul fear to draw near to Me, even though its sins be as scarlet." Jesus also gave Saint Faustina an intention to pray for on each day of the Novena, saving for the last day the most difficult intention of all, the lukewarm and indifferent of whom Jesus said:
"These souls cause Me more suffering than any others; it was from such souls that My soul felt the most revulsion in the Garden of Olives. It was on their account that I said: 'My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass Me by.' The last hope of salvation for them is to flee to My Mercy."
